This absolutely incredible 1970s vintage caftan maxi dress features a highly avant garde drapey silhouette that hangs in glamorous layers all around the body. Made with a thin, soft and stretchy psychedelic printed fabric in purple and earthy shades of brown with a subtle micro lurex-like shimmer to it. V-neckline, fabric covered buttons with loops at the bodice, reinforced open belt-holes at empire waist level to run a matching tie belt through. This belt has long, dangly purple fringe and is the icing on this already visually delicious cake. Full disclosure: this is confusing to put on and we had to try a few times for it to make sense...on the interior is a connected crop top like piece with a head opening, armholes, and an elastic band around the bottom edge which sits beneath the bust. The caftan is open and very drapey but this interior piece best fits a small to medium frame and the measurements can be found below. The sleeves are massively batwing style and the silhouette tapers toward the bottom hem with a high slit in the front. Slips on overhead - no zipper. The print is amazing and the fabric feels so good on the skin. Wear this to a gallery opening night or other performance where creatives gather and prepare to be appreciated for your keen sense of true style...
• designer: Jay Morley for Fern Violette

• fabric: unlisted-soft, thin, stretchy...likely crepe Nylon or Polyester
• color: purples, browns, beiges, black
